University of Illinois Urbana Champaign Ikenberry Commons Project Management

To serve the residential needs of second-year students, the University of Illinois undertook the construction of a 180,000 sf residence hall featuring a mixture of modern double and single unit suites. As part of the Construction Manager Clayco’s project team, Cotter Consulting provided project management services for this two-phase project.

The first phase included the construction of a 480-bed residence hall, including both suites and semi-suites. These unit types offered an increased level of privacy for upper-level students. The second phase included the demolition of the existing Forbes Hall at the Northwest corner of Ikenberry Commons.

Cotter provided cost estimating, bidding, subcontractor bidding, scheduling and commissioning management services.
