Project

UIUC Henry Dale and Betty Smith Football Center

The 107,650 sf Henry Dale and Betty Smith Football Center will adjoin the south end of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) Irwin Indoor Practice Facility. The facility will feature new and expanded strength and conditioning and sports medicine space, coaches’ offices, meeting rooms, player development areas, locker rooms, and other areas for recruiting and prospect hosting. When completed, the new complex will be the largest in the Big Ten Conference and provide world-class player amenities to support recruiting efforts and a successful football program.

Teamed with Turner-Clayco, Cotter is providing project management for this complex multi-phased project.

Project Team

It has been an absolute joy to partner with a great Turner-Clayco team on this world-class athletic facility on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus. We worked daily with the university and the Architect (HNTB) to deliver this challenging project on a very tight construction schedule, within budget. On a personal level, I enjoyed contributing to a project at my alma mater that will boost the university, and the football team for years to come.

Recognition

When you see genuine excitement, that's pretty neat to watch. Every player on our football team, of course, was really excited.
