Clement J. Zablocki VA Hospital

The Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center delivers primary, secondary, and tertiary medical care in 166 acute operating beds and accommodates over 600,000 visits annually through an extensive outpatient program. The nursing home care unit offers geriatric programming and the 356 domiciliary beds support substance abuse rehabilitation, psychiatric rehabilitation, and post-traumatic stress disorder care.

Cotter was engaged with the VAMC to provide Clerk and Inspector Services to support Milwaukee’s VA Facility Management (FM) Department with professional, technical, and administrative services related to their construction activity.

The engagement involved 190 projects with a backlog value of about $81 million and approximately 30 projects under construction. The projects include department consolidations, expansions, and relocations, facility renewals and repairs, mechanical and diagnostic equipment upgrades and replacements, life safety improvements, roadway, and parking repaving, demolition and construction of new clinics and mental health units.
