This project represents what Cotter does best. We helped our client reposition their nearly vacant property, ultimately attracting a highly visible concept store for an international athletic apparel retailer, thereby enabling our client to divest of the property to meet their investment strategy for the Chicago portfolio.
Acadia Realty Trust Retail Repositioning – 938 W. North Avenue
In this bustling retail corridor, prime retail space at 938 West North Avenue had remained vacant for three years. The owner elected to reposition the vacant space to attract a retail tenant. Cotter provided retail construction project management services to oversee the repositioning.
The repositioning involved replacing the façade and demolishing the previous tenant build out, and modernizing the new space with an appealing new aesthetic. Project managers ensured that the facade replacement ran smoothly, advised on contracts and project procedures, maintained budget and schedule, reviewed cost estimates, change orders, and other items influencing time, budget, and project quality.
Now, the property is home to the unique Lululemon concept store, featuring fitness space and dining in addition to the retail areas. Cotter’s experience providing retail construction project management services contributed to attracting a quality tenant.
