O’Hare Multi-Modal Facility

City of Chicago Department of Aviation

The O’Hare International Airport Multi-Modal Facility combines the Consolidated Rental Car Facility (ConRAC) and Airport Transit System (ATS) extension at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, along with bus terminals and commuter train access to form a new multi-modal hub. This $800M development relocated and consolidated existing rental car facilities. The new facility provides 4,100 rental car parking spaces, 2,600 public parking spaces for airport users, quick turnaround areas, and a customer service center. Its dramatic architecture serves as a new welcome center for travelers and Chicagoland residents alike.

The O’Hare Multi-Modal Facility and ATS Extension also features a new terminal station for the ATS, located away from the impact zone of the planned runway 9C/27C. The project expanded the ATS maintenance facility to house additional transit cars to accommodate increased ridership on the ATS. The Multi-Modal Facility transforms the car rental process.
