Cotter is experienced in providing project management for non-profit construction projects. Cotter provided the Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation project management services for the new three-story 30,000 sf synagogue.
Cotter’s expertise with green construction proved essential to the project. After receiving an energy-savings grant from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation, the JRC pursued a LEED Platinum certification for its project. This new synagogue, designed by Ross Barney Architects, became the first house of worship in the nation to achieve LEED Platinum certification.
Sustainable design features include water efficient fixtures and drought-resistant landscaping to significantly reduce water consumption over the life of the building.
