Cotter served as the project manager during the design and construction phases of this innovative LEED “beta” project, which marked the City of Chicago’s first venture into LEED in 2000. This was also the first rehabilitated municipal building in the country to receive LEED Platinum certification.
This facility, the adaptive reuse of the Sacramento Stone building and Brownfield site, was developed as a demonstration for green and renewable energy technologies. It continues to promote green technologies as well as sustainable community development through educational programming, resources, and research. The building serves as an integrated model of energy efficiency and sustainable design.
